The Hartford Scale

The Hartford Society is centered around one guiding principle: The Hartford Scale. This 75-point scale is the basis on which we critique every restaurant and entertainment venue, giving a "final score" based on how well the location meets each part of the Scale. Restaurants everywhere strive to join the ranks of venues receiving the "Hartford 75," a highly-exclusive perfect score on our Scale. Those few that receive the full 75 points display the title of "Hartford Society 75er" with honor, some even put up signs or print it on their menus.

For years, the Hartford Scale and its components have been made a mystery. Now, however, in the interest of transparency and with the hope that business owners will work even harder toward Hartford Perfection, we are publishing the exact breakdown of the 75 points of the Hartford Scale.
