3315 N Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37917
This staple bowling alley, located in North Knoxville, has its positives and its negatives. While we were there, we were invited to utilize their "purchase one game, receive one game at a complimentary rate" promotion. I have since found out that they have a separate promotion that would have made our bowling experience much cheaper. Unfortunately, Maggie failed to inform us of this.
However, the bowling alley itself and the lanes were in a pretty good condition. The technology for scoring is a little primitive (see photos) but it still beats hand-writing the scores and having to do complex mathematical equations while you're drinking. The establishment has a typical bowling alley snack bar, complete with a full-liquor bar and basic alley foods (hot dogs, pizza, porterhouse steaks, etc.) A big draw in terms of food are the dangerously inexpensive jello shots. Buyer, beware! They tend to ask you to leave if you get drunk or belligerent.
**** I will note that, although this alley is named "Strike and Spare" I bowled 4 games and did not receive either a strike or a spare through that entire time. (That said, I believe that Maggie was somehow altering the results of some of my pins.) Please do not interpret this establishment's name as a guarantee that you will bowl well. I am not personally the type to sue, but some may construe this as false advertisement. ****
The pro shop is never open because I work during the day and can not bowl, so I can not speak much on that. However, I may be having a new ball drilled soon and can update my review upon completion of that.
All in all, this establishment receives a very high rank on the Hartford Scale, totaling at 59/75.
